Voreia Asteria, also known as Vor.As, were a Greek hip-hop group from Thessaloniki. It was founded in 1999 and consisted of Mikro Kleftis, Lex, Jamal, Zenon and Mondi. The original structure of the band included 3D, Des and Aldo. Their lyricism seems to be influenced by their lifestyle and routine. Their city, Thessaloniki, was repeatedly mentioned in tracks such as Thermi Thessaloniki and 24/7. They started as a graffiti crew in Thessaloniki in 1997, but their childhood friendship and a shared love of music led to the foundation of the band in 1999. The creation was due to the union of Alitoi Grifoi, Xasma, and Pareisaktoi, which were projects in which band members have worked in the past. Since 1999, Voreia Asteria have been producing and writing their own music. The tracks were produced by Mondi with Mikros Kleftis, while Dof and Aldo were often involved. Mixing was usually handled by Squeezy Anks. In 2003, their first five records were released independently, as a result of the previous years of preparation. During 2003, these works were shared for free through the concerts they took part in. By 2010, seven more albums had been released whereas Voreia Asteria had rejected the proposals of several record companies. Most of their albums have been released for free, while some were originally released with a minimum symbolic price. However, in 2010, they decided to work with an independent rap record label, Ixokratoria. Thus, in December 2010 they released their latest album, titled 5 Asterwn..
